Business Operations Expert. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Two decades in the trenches of enterprise software adoption.

I don't write theory. I write about what happens when capital meets execution.

Every previous technology revolution replaced human labor. Machines lifted what we couldn’t. Engines moved what we wouldn’t. Software counted what we shouldn’t have to. AI is different. It’s not replacing what your body does — it’s replacing what your mind does. Your judgment. Your pattern recognition. Your expertise. The thing you spent twenty years building.

That’s not just disruptive. It’s dysregulating.

And the loudest voices want you to believe the endgame is already written — three companies own everything, everyone else is obsolete, and there’s nothing you can do about it. They’re wrong. Consumers drive 70% of the economy. Another word for consumers is employees. The pace of AI adoption isn’t set by the technology. It’s set by human behavior — by the decisions millions of people make every quarter about what to buy, what to fund, and what to tolerate.

The throttle is in our hands. It always has been.

My first book, The Failure of I.T. Project Management, pushed business owners to stop abdicating their responsibility for adoption on I.T. The premise — “the most expensive software is the one that never gets used…or gets built twice” — is truer now than ever.

Flatten the AI J-Curve is the next chapter of that argument. AI doesn’t fail because of the technology. It fails because organizations can’t imagine what’s possible beyond their current processes, can’t navigate the inevitable productivity dip, and can’t tell the right story to their boards when the numbers get ugly. As Vice President and business manager for one of the world’s top ten global asset managers, I’ve spent the last decade embedded in the operational reality of financial services transformation. I’m a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, and Prosci Change Management practitioner — not because I collect certifications, but because I learned early that business AI adoption fails at the seams between strategy, process, and people.

I’ve watched billions get allocated to initiatives that should have worked. The pattern became clear: the winners saw the dip coming. They built different metrics. They told a different story.

In 2022, I came face to face with my own mortality. What emerged was clarity — about what matters, what’s urgent, and what I had left to say. This book is what happens next.

No fluff. No hype. Just the operational playbook for leaders who refuse to let someone else decide the future for them.
